ALEXANDRA aka STARFUCKED
Alexandra became one of my Inspirational Models in July 2015. I really wanted her to be my first coloured pencil drawing, so I could capture her awesome red and black hair. The coloured pencils haven’t seen much action of late, so I decided it was time to draw her as best I could with regular pencils. I will capture her in colour one day, maybe even a big epic painting of her swirling her crazy hair around :)
She has so much sassiness, style and sexiness about her. I knew I’d never be able to do her justice. In fact, this drawing sat on my drawing board for about a month. I ‘finished’ it, but I wasn’t happy. Every single day for weeks I kept looking at it, trying to work out what was bothering me. I wasn’t going to touch it until I knew for certain what was wrong. One day last week, while doing some sit ups, I caught a glimpse of the drawing for an odd angle. Right there I realised what was wrong. I was going to have to erase half of her face and start again.
So that’s what I did today. Grabbed my eraser and fearlessly erased half of her face. I’m glad I did, as I like the way she looks a lot more now, but blimey. This was my toughest drawing yet! I tried my best, that is all I ever ask of myself, so I’m happy.
