5 OF THE BEST ART PODCASTS – 2018
I adore listening to Art Podcasts, especially while at the day job … you’re effectively getting paid to consume knowledge and grow as an Artist at that point :) heehee, feels a bit cheeky when you think about it like that. I love podcasts though, so I thought it would be nice to compile a little list of my five best art podcasts for 2018.
The following five, listed in alphabetical order, have all been updated within the past month too, which is nice, as it means the hosts are still busy in their kitchens baking new episodes for us :) *future me here from May 2022 – sadly most of these podcasts have stopped producing new episodes, I guess the chefs burnt down their kitchens lol, but least we still have their archives of goodies to enjoy*

WHY DO I LOVE THIS SHOW?
This is a five days a week (gulp) show, where Iva interviews various Artists from all sorts of backgrounds and styles. It’s fascinating hearing from all these different artists, some design characters, some founders of successful online classes, some showing off their oil paintings in galleries around the world … but they all share one thing in common, a love for what they do :)
FAVOURITE EPISODE?
Episode 80. Stephen Silver on the Power of your Journey … this is one hell of an episode. Stephen Silver is bursting at the seams with passion. I found myself nodding along as he spoke, it even gets a bit spiritual at points … I love this episode.

WHY DO I LOVE THIS SHOW?
Storytellers Jerzy Drozd and Rob Stenzinger host what is a show unlike any other, this one is highly thought provoking, you’ll find yourself asking some deep questions at times during this show.
FAVOURITE EPISODE?
Episode number 219 – Live Drawing & Urgent Design, fascinating this one was. Jerzy and Rob discussed planning things vs just letting things happen, and how sometimes not having enough time to finish something can actually lead to greatness, basically, stick a saddle on it and see what happens lol At it’s core, this was an episode of the heart vs head, a great listen.

This is more of a teaching podcast, if you have an interest in life drawing, I would say this is a must listen; a very warm, cosy podcast, thanks to the relationship between the two hosts: Kenzo and Mayko.
FAVOURITE EPISODE?
Episode 7. most important thing to keep in mind when learning life drawing … this is only a little episode, but it has tons of tiny tips to help with life drawing :)

WHY DO I LOVE THIS SHOW?
So much wisdom, so much wisdom, so much wisdom … and it’s fun :) It’s a nicely put together podcast, with very little filler, this is a podcast that has one purpose, to teach you things in a fun way.
FAVOURITE EPISODE?
Episode 106: Books That Will Change Your Creative Process (Best of 2017) … one of those episodes where you’ll need a piece of paper with you to take notes. I loved the way this was set up, with the hosts ringing each other up and asking what their favourite books were and why, such a fun episode.
