CAT ‘EYES ON THE PRIZE’

My first realistic pencil drawing in nearly six months! Since my last drawing I stepped back from everything and asked myself. “What do I really want out of life?” The answer – to start my transition. I guess this is where the name for this drawing came from. I named it, EYES ON THE PRIZE.

I like his intense look, as if he knows what he wants, and he’s going to get it no matter what’s in his path … maybe he’s thinking about transitioning into a female cat :)

He took two weeks to finish, as when the PLYMOUTH ARTS CLUB 2016 SUMMER EXHIBITION date was confirmed, I wanted a new drawing to exhibit, so with only two weeks to go, I got me head down and cracked on.

While the black background required a lot of patience, it reminded me how rewarding doing a realistic drawing is!
