This one’s about the Art Soundoff Challenge, which is an Art Journaling Micro Podcast Challenge run by the Lean into Art Podcast.
I decided to try and do all 30 prompts in one sitting, with only 30 seconds to Journal each one; I really enjoyed this episode.
My Sister’s away on holiday at the moment, and I’m dog sitting, so you may hear random noises and stuff…I didn’t have my microphone, so recorded it using the camcorders built in microphone.
Hopefully it’s good enough, but lots of stuff was covered on this one, like: Art Tools, Awareness, Journaling, Mooji, Videogames, and we have a return of the Negative Thoughts.
If you’re watching on YouTube, you’ll even get to see lil Dennis meeting a real dog for the first time too :)
Hope you like it.
This one’s all about the Art Challenges, and how I deal with some of the various Challenges that come along with doing an Art Challenge.
Simplifying the Art Challenge,
and Overcoming Perfectionism
Are some of the tings I talk about, as well as the difference between a Monthly Art Challenge like Inktober, and a Yearly Art Challenge like Draw Everyday.
…ohh, and I also bring up the topic of Negative Thoughts, because during the episode a lil Demon creeps into my head and starts trying to put me off by saying Negative Stuff.
Inking, Sketching, Watercolouring and Digital Painting; I talk about all the tings I learnt from the Cats of June 30 Day Art Challenge. There was so much, like how Confidence really shows in your Lines when Inking, how Digital Painting leaves me Exhausted, and how Sketching is a great way to Study other Artists work. I recorded this one down Saltrum, the local woods, and not only were quite a few people were out walking their lil doggies which makes for some fun social moments, but I found a lil pebble which said “You Are Enough” … which is fitting for this episode, as I had all my camera settings wrong, so it’s not the prettiest episode to watch, but I hope you like it :)
‘Read one of your Blog Posts – 30 in 30 Painting Challenge’ was this weeks random topic, and it ends up being a talk about how Fun, Freeing and Messy Painting Is, How Art Challenges help make you more adaptable, confident and less of a Perfectionist, and how Writing while doing an Art Challenge is a good way to learn more about your art and yourself. Hope you like this one :)
Dennis had a week off this week, so instead of a random topic, I talk about Haters. Why do Haters Hate? It’s a nice lil discussion that comes full circle at the end, when I start talking about Lucid Dreaming and how you can use them to start facing your fears. I also share a fun way of turning Haters into something positive, that I’m calling the Ice Cream Haters 10, and there’s a lil bit about a new Art Challenge called the Cats of June 2019. As always, hope you enjoy it :)
This weeks lil podcast is all about Pencil vs Ink, and what I’ve noticed so far after 20 days of Inktober 2018. I talk about the Paradox of Inks, how they’re both similar and totally different to Pencils at the same time, there’s also the lil Art Tip, which is about Nipping Tings in the Bud, and there’s a teeny bit about Reality Checks and Lucid Dreaming at the end too. Hope you like this one :)
This lil one is all about Inktober, and some of the tings I’ve learnt over the first 5 days. I talk about how Scary it can be to Commit to an Ink Line knowing you can’t Erase it, Some of my Smudging Struggles and how Pencil Drawing seems to be the most important Art skill. The lil Art Tip is how a scrap piece of paper can be used to help check your Proportions when Drawing, and I throw in a lil bit about Consciousness at the end, and how I think the future could be the past :)
This weeks lil podcast is all about Art Challenges, and some of the reasons why I believe doing an Art Challenge could be one of the best tings you ever do … even if it does feel a lil bit scary at first :) We also have this weeks lil Art Tip, which is to not waste time focusing on the details, by remembering to ZOOM OUT while Drawing Digitally and STEPPING BACK while Drawing Traditionally :)
In this lil episode I share some stories from my brief time throwing paint around while Abstract Painting for the first time; As someone whose really only done pencil drawings before, this was a totally different experience … I found to be Fantastically Freeing, and Massively Messy :)
