37 – GESTURE DRAWING
This lil one’s all about Gesture Drawing, a really fun drawing exercise that helps get more energy into your artwork, especially Characters. I talk about why it’s MY MOST FUN DRAWING EXERCISE, and how online resources like QuickPoses.com and Croquis Cafe, can help improve your Gesture Drawing skills.
There’s also a new feature this week in Book Book Time :) where I look at a different book each episode, as well as the lil Art Tip, which this week is :
lil ART TIP TIME
USE THE BIGGEST PIECE OF PAPER YOU CAN FIND WHEN DOING GESTURE DRAWING
**BONUS**
Here’s an extra teeny weeny lil challenge to try
TRY STARTING A GESTURE DRAWING WHERE YOU FEEL THE MOST FEELING, NOT NECESSARILY WITH THE HEAD
A lot of people say start with the head, but I’ve found my Gestures feel more Energetic when I start where I feel the most feeling. That feeling place is where I’m most Excited, and that initial Excitement seems to Flow throughout the rest of the Gesture when I start with it.
BOOK BOOK 1
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How To Lose Your Mind And Create A New One, by Dr Joe Dispenza
This book changed my life, I haven’t read it in over five years, but the stuff I learnt in this one really did stay with me. Like Art, this book makes you see the world totally differently, and I have a feeling it could end up being the most important book you ever read; Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, by Dr Joe Dispenza, had to be my first BOOK BOOK :)
