There’s also a new feature this week in Book Book Time :) where I look at a different book each episode, as well as the lil Art Tip, which this week is :
lil ART TIP TIME
USE THE BIGGEST PIECE OF PAPER YOU CAN FIND WHEN DOING GESTURE DRAWING
If you’re limited by the paper size, you end up holding back and not being able to really go for it, and Gesture Drawing is all about going for it. Feeling the Pose, and Throwing Long, Sexy, Confident Lines all over the Paper … so it’s best to use the biggest sheet of paper you can find :)
Here’s an extra teeny weeny lil ART TIP … it’s more of a challenge really, but
TRY STARTING A GESTURE DRAWING WHERE YOU FEEL THE MOST FEELING, NOT NECESSARILY WITH THE HEAD
A lot of people say start with the head, but I’ve found my Gestures feel more Energetic when I start where I feel the most feeling. That feeling place is where I’m most Excited, and that initial Excitement seems to Flow throughout the rest of the Gesture when I start with it.
New feature Alert!
It’s BOOK BOOK Time :) Each week I’ll be talking about a book I’ve either read in the past, currently reading, or want to read in the future. Art books, Spiritual books, Story books, Kids books? … I’m not fussy, if it’s a good book I’ll talk about it :)
BOOK BOOK 1 goes to – Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How To Lose Your Mind And Create A New One, by Dr Joe Dispenza
This book changed my life, I haven’t read it in over five years, but the stuff I learnt in this one really did stay with me. Like Art, this book makes you see the world totally differently, and I have a feeling it could end up being the most important book you ever read; Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, by Dr Joe Dispenza, had to be my first BOOK BOOK :)

” GESTURE DRAWING IS ALL ABOUT FEELING. “
– Sophie Lawson
This one’s a lil bit different and more about the tings, as I share a Holotropic Breathwork experience, which leads into: Ancient Civilisations, Aliens, Time Travel and Remote Viewing the War in Heaven … fascinating stuff. I highly recommend trying out Holotropic Breathwork for yourself. The Fascinating Fact is related, as it’s to do with Breathing, the lil Art Tip is all about the colour of your art tools and the Book Book is one of my favourites, Sophie’s World. As always, hope you like this one :)
What’s the Best Drawing Paper for Gesture Drawing? Sketching? and Realistic Pencil Drawing? Join me for episode One of the So Free Art Podcast, to find out :)
This week I talk about my first time floating in a float tank … one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever have. I recorded this one down the park, and just as I was finishing up, the episode got gate crashed by a bloke called Nick playing a guitar … so this one gets very random at the end :)
I think this is the most out there lil episode I’ve done so far lol Something that’s always bothered me, is Why are some people born Transgender? I came up with a Theory this morning after a Lucid Dream, and it made me wonder, What if we’re inside of a Dream right now, and what if that’s got something to do with why some people are born Transgender. There’s also the lil Art Tip, which is about the fun of trying new things … and there’s even a bonus lil Art Challenge for you to do this week too :) Woohoo!
This lil episode is all about Crap Drawings, well, part of it is … this is my Spontaneous A to Z of Art, where I run through the alphabet and say the first art related word that springs to mind and talk about it. We have C is for Crap Drawings, B is for Boring Exercises, O is for Orange and I is for Inspiration, at one point K was for King Kong lol this one gets a bit nutty at times :)
Something changed after last weeks fast of not eating any food for 50 hours, because ever since I’ve felt like a different person. It’s Time for Change, and this episode is all about it, Sacrifice and dealing with Videogame Addiction. It’s also episode 50, so to celebrate, I filmed this one in front of the webcam for YouTube. Woohoo! Hope you like this one :)
‘What are you currently Struggling with?’, is this weeks random topic … and it ends up being an episode about the Struggles of trying to Curate and Focus an Instagram feed: How do you decide what to focus on, when multiple Passions seem right? Do you even need to curate an Instagram Feed? Why is Focus so bleeding hard? lol This one’s a bit like being a pinball bouncing around inside my brain as I try to work out what to do. Hope you like this one :)
On this episode I talk about Finding Focus … or at least I try to, it’s funny, this podcast is about focus, yet it’s the most unfocused one I’ve done yet lol Thoughts are everywhere, but hopefully you can find some bits of wisdom in here somewhere. I’m more talking to myself during this episode, about how I’m struggling to focus on my Art at the moment, ways I’m trying to create new habits and a little bit about discipline, plus there’s a bit of spirituality thrown in for good measure too; this is weird one :)
This lil episode comes to you live from the astral planes lol I talk about Out Of Body Experiences on this one, and a theory I have where I wonder if the Earth is a school for us babies, created by the creator, with the ultimate goal of growing new creators; are we destined to be a Creator … aka, a God? There’s also the lil art tip, which this week is about how a craft knife can be used to fix inking errors. Hope you like this one :)
